Have you ever thougth when was the first picture taken? who first thought to built a device to take picture and when? how the first Camera look?

  1. The camera obscura(forerunner to camera) was described by the Arabic, Muslim scientist Ibn al-Haytham (Alhazen) in his Book of Optics (1015–1021 ).
  2. After 600 years in 1604 Johannes Kepler made the apparatus transportable, in the form of a tent.
  3. Irish scientist Robert Boyle and his assistant Robert Hooke developed a portable camera obscura in the 1660s
  4. The first camera that was small and portable enough for practical use was built by Johann Zahn in 1685
  5. The first permanent photograph was made in 1826 by a french Joseph Nicéphore Niépce using a sliding wooden box camera made by Charles and Vincent Chevalier in Paris.
  6. The first permanent colour photograph was taken by James Clerk Maxwell, a scottish physicist in 1861.
